A homes foundation is critical.  Without a proper foundation nothing else in the home matters.

That being said not all foundation problems are the same.  Some cracks may warrant immediate extensive repair, while others may only be cosmetic in nature.

Prior to buying a home it's important to have an understanding of these potential problems.  Having a professional home inspection is a must.

The following article posted by HouseLogic.com offers some great insight in regard to identifying general foundation problems:

Spring Landscaping Tips

Tom O'Dwyer

Attractive landscaping can boost both curb appeal and the value of your home.   Now is the time to start getting your property looking great.

Spring Perennials Breaking Through

Spring Perennials Breaking Through

Landscaping doesn't need to be overly expensive, but it can be hard work.  With the proper selection of plants and a little sweat equity, you can drastically improve the appearance of your home.  This improved appearance directly translates to increased property value.

I recommend doing some research and shopping around at a reputable local nursery.

Always remember the difference between annuals and perennials. Perennials are a great long-term investment, they will come back and flower year after year.

The following article from FreshHome.com offers 10 great home landscaping tips:

Negotiate Like A Pro

Tom O'Dwyer

Negotiating is one of the most important facets of the home buying experience.

A thorough home inspection report provides the buyer with the necessary information to tactfully negotiate with the seller.

On the other-hand, if you're the seller, performing a pre-listing home inspection can help highlight unknown defects within the home. These defects will inevitably be used as negotiating chips by the buyer, they may also slow down the deal.  A pre-listing inspection followed with necessary repairs will increase the value of the home and speed up the sale considerably.

The following article by ForSaleByOwner provides some great negotiating advice:
